The Senior Bowl released its updated roster today, and the Crimson Tide will be well-represented in Mobile. Five Alabama players have officially accepted their invitations, looking to boost their draft stock in front of scouts from all 32 NFL teams.
The Mobile Five
- Parker Brailsford (Center): The anchor of DeBoer's offensive line. Scouts will be watching to see if his undersized frame can hold up against massive interior defensive linemen in 1-on-1 drills.
- Jam Miller (Running Back): An explosive playmaker who finally stepped out of the rotation shadow. He needs to show versatility in pass protection and route running.
- Tim Keenan III (Nose Tackle): A fan favorite whose low center of gravity makes him a nightmare to block. This is his chance to prove he's more than just a two-down run stuffer.
- LT Overton (Edge): The highly touted transfer who found a home in Tuscaloosa. Scouts want to see elite bend and burst off the edge.
- Josh Cuevas (Tight End): A reliable target who can climb draft boards with a strong showing in receiving drills.
Missing Names
Notably absent are Germie Bernard and Deontae Lawson, who were initially invited but have opted out. This suggests they either feel secure in their draft projection or are recovering from injuries sustained during the playoff run.
Iron Bowl Lens: Evaluation Ground
The Senior Bowl is often an extension of the Iron Bowl rivalry. Auburn has accepted invites for OL Jeremiah Wright and Edge Keyron Crawford.
Keep an eye on the practice reports for Tuesday and Wednesday (Jan 27-28). There is a high probability of Parker Brailsford lining up directly against Jeremiah Wright in 1-on-1 drills. It will be one last, miniature Iron Bowl rep before they turn pro.
